Did anyone get their 140 approved from Vermont?
My 140 and 485 were filed late July 07 in Nebrasks and I got notices stating the 485 was transferred to Texas and 140 was being processed in Vermont.
The Vermont processing time for 140s has been stagnant at April 2006 for a long time.
Wondering if anyone has any updates on this.

1) Wrap up the backlog and introduce enough visas to make all categories EB2/EB3 current for everyone.

File your EAD based on where you live - it does not matter where you 485 is being processed.

Hello everyone,
I had filed for my I485 on 19th July at Nebraska. My 90 days are getting over on 19th Oct. Still I have not received any receipts for I-485,EAD,I-131.
My lawyer is going to call USCIS to inquire about my case.
Does any one had experience calling USCIS after 90 days were over and the USCIS tracked your application and you got your receipts.
Would be great if any one can share there experiences.

I think if you are out of the country for 1 year u can get 3 yr extension. But you would get counted in the quota though,fresh H1, I think.

All,
I recently received my FP appointment date, but I have to be on a conference the previous day. If everything goes well, I can arrive to my appointment without any problem.
But if my flight is delayed or cancelled I might risk being late to the appointment. My appointment is 10:00 am in the morning, are they very strict about the timing for FP appointment, or can we go a little late if we were delayed? Can you please share your experience?
Also, How early should we call in to postpone the appointment?

I have appeared for interviews in toronto. They have not looked at my pay stubs in detail. The most they would go is to check if you are still employed with the same firm. Again, this said each case is different. Stuff like Employer reputation, qualification etc., surely helps.

The absence of I485 receipt may be an issue, because they would put a stamp on that paper after taking your (I485) FP. They would do the same on your EAD FP notice letter.

But its list doesn't include EAD or Adjustment of Status. Can that list be challenged to include EAD? That is, how to convince the bank/lending inst that EAD is a legal/legitimate status like H1?
