EB3 with PD of July 2006. I-140 Approved. 485 +EAD+AP filed 2 weeks ago.
I was contemplating on job change before dates became current in June and decision to accept 485....
Now that 485 is filed and this DUST has settled, wondering whether all this is worth the wait. (even 180 days).
Currently in my 5th year of H1b, by waiting out the 6 months, I'll also get 3 yr h1b ext. (and hopefully ead by then).
So is waiting 180 days the best choice? or screw all this and change! (I dunno if this AC21 etc etc is practical...same job description etc)
(I am single and those complexities are not to be considered I guess yet.
Plan is to try and change jobs on H1b and use EAD only if there is a dire need like layoff to find another job quicker)

I opened SR in Jan...took infopass last week...NOTHING..stupid people are saying that my namecheck is going on..i applied 140 and 485 in July...i140 not yet approved...no FP also...blackhole...

The 60 rule is a senate rule and only makes the status quo folks happy.
You cannot get anything done with 60 votes. California has the same problem with the budget requiring 66% votes.
BTW, if you are a republican the reason that the Bush tax cuts are going to expire next year is that they were passed via reconciliation. So I am going to be paying more taxes next year.
I will be paying more taxes if Healthcare reform passes too, but I still oppose the 60 votes stupidity.
Once a party wins the majority, I expect them to get do the stuff they promised. If they do stuff that everyone dislikes, they will get voted out and then the other party can do what they want and the cycle will continue.

I received email from USCIS this morning for my wife I-485 i.e Card Ordered for Production. I am the Primary applicant, but i am still waiting for my turn. My PD is Sep 2004 & EB2.
We booked our tickets to India before we received this email. I am travelling in 3rd week of Sep. We both have new AP's. So is i have to wait here in USA to receive the Card or can i proceed with my actual plan?. Can anybody share their expertise?.
I really for your help in Advance.

I have called the IRS for this scenario and the IRS rule is that the dependent has to be present in US for at least 180 days. Also they need to have an ITIN applied for (you can also apply for ITIN while filing your taxes).

FYI: Ours went to R Williams on July 2nd/NSC and there is thread on this forum if you are interested. We heard nothing. According to the posts, if any of R Williams cases had any action, they happened at other service centers. You person might be sending the submittals around as well if they were received on July 2nd. Hang in there :cool:

I applied for EAD renewal at NSC on 07/03/08 and today 08/06/2008, the status shows card production ordered. I applied for my wife along with me and her status shows still received.
Does the dependent (spouse) EAD in general get approved a few days after the primary applicants EAD is approved? I am not really using the EAD, its my wife who is using it, and thats the concern.

You need to verify what they are feeling and why they are filling in forms.

So am still little confused... Should I go this route... The reason is the company who is willing to do my GC is doing also in good faith. But with the economy the way it shapes up... they are not sure, but as a good faith they did agree to start my GC process. Well I will be bearing the lawyer expenses...they would manage the mandatory fees. So they have very little to loose.
What do you guys suggest! I have heard many people who work with company A and GC is done by Company B ... ( Correct me if I am wrong here)

Is there any way IV can take up the NSC I140 processing times with USCIS???
Why is there a huge discrepancy between TSC and NSC wrt I140
Also the processing times NSC publsihes are not right.
for eg: My EB2 is pending from Dec 2006 and the latest update is Feb 2007.
